Beth and I got up at 4 a.m. and went out in our kayaks to watch the meteor shower from the middle of the lake. The night was clear, but we saw more of a meteor "sprinkle" than shower. Perhaps we were too late, as the stars were fading quickly as dawn approached.

Still it was a neat experience as we listened to an owl in the distance and waited for dawn.

Early morning light.

A morning haze made the colors more diffused than yesterday, but still pretty. Once light, we each paddled separate ways along the shoreline. I found a Great Blue Heron:

In flight

After two and a half hours on the water, the sun was up and I headed back...

Morning Glories

Borrowed these pics of Roe and me from Beth's Blog. They were taken during yesterday's sunrise.
