Life
If you give up your life - or any part of it - for the sake of Christ, He always finds ways to give it back to you.

"...I have come that they might have life, and that they have it more abundantly." (John 10:10)

Columbia River Gorge

We came up the Columbia River from the East on the Washington side. We noticed the wind right away. As we drove, we learned they make good use of the wind here:

Kite Surfing
We stopped for a break at this Corps of Engineers park in Roosevelt.
Soon we could see Mt. Hood in the distance.
A land of fruit orchards, vineyards, and windmills.
And a replica of Stonehenge
Entering the gorge area
Wind surfers/sailboarders having a regatta.
A little side trip into Wishram, whose one claim to fame is an old train engine.
It sits under a shelter and is all fenced in....kind of hard to get a good look.
We drove through tunnels,
Stopped at overlooks,
Watched bundled logs floating downriver,
And finally crossed the Bridge of Lions into Oregon. Right as I snapped this photo Joselyn told me not to try taking pictures while I drove over that bridge!
Murals under the bridge
Horsetail Falls
And the main tourist attraction:
Video: It's too tall for one photo

Pool at the bottom
I hiked up as far as the bridge, but Joselyn went all the way to the top!

There she goes up the trail.
Some facts about the falls
Next we had 2 mini-get-togethers. This was with my friend from the women's rv forum, Lenora, in Battle Ground.
And this one with my cousin, Barbara in Vancouver.
It's great to know people all across the country!
Next up: Mt. St. Helens
