Life
If you give up your life - or any part of it - for the sake of Christ, He always finds ways to give it back to you.

"...I have come that they might have life, and that they have it more abundantly." (John 10:10)

Yellowstone National Park, Day 2

Returning in the morning of day 2 we drove through the Roosevelt Arch.

We crossed over the 45th Parallel

Saw elk on the hillside

Took a short interpretive hike

We learned the names of the mtns.

And how Yellowstone was formed

Stopped to see Roosevelt Lodge

Then we entered the spectacular area of Yellowstone Canyon and waterfalls

Snowpeaked mountains

And then there were grizzly bears! Mama and two cubs crossing the road...

How cool was that?

Nope...back the other way

Changed her mind again

Finally up the hillside

We are climbing higher into the mountains

And down into the canyon

A hike down to the brink of the Lower Falls

A short video of water going over the Lower Falls. Note the rainbow:

Oh that’s me....smiling before climbing back up to the parking lot.

Steps on the other side of the canyon...we skipped that trail.

A view of Lower Falls from a distance

I love the colors in the canyon

From Inspiration Point you can see the Upper Falls in the distance...if you squint.

Video of the Upper Falls

Artists Point

About the colors

Oh there I am again getting in the way of the view

Another video

You wouldn’t know it was the same river here....

Otter

Animals have the right of way

A large herd of bison

Mud volcano

Chewing his cud

I thought this was a golden eagle....but don't think so now due to markings. Need some ID help.

Definitely a bird of prey. Some kind of hawk perhaps?

Birdie, where are you?

We spent two days here....never enough time. You can do Yellowstone’s Grand Loop more than once, and see something different each time. I asked a couple who had been here 50 years ago what was different, and he said more trees and more people today.

  1. Liz, great pics as usual. The bird you are looking for an ID is a Red-tailed hawk. Enjoy and be safe. Birdie
