Entering eastern Oregon we were following parts of the historic Oregon Trail. We stopped at this Interpretive Center to learn more.
Inside was an excellent display of life size interactive dioramas of life on the trail:
Along with short videos and first-hand accounts...readings of people’s journals of their experiences.
Outside you could see the terrain the wagons had to cross in this area.
Old wagon ruts are still visible
Later we stopped for the night at Emigrant Springs State Park, which was a stopover for the Oregon Trail Pioneers as well.
Very organized, each person performed 2 songs.
These little girls enjoyed dancin’
Dancin’ dolls
Little cabin in the woods..
Next up...the Columbia River gorge, and two mini-get-togethers.
