Life
If you give up your life - or any part of it - for the sake of Christ, He always finds ways to give it back to you.

"...I have come that they might have life, and that they have it more abundantly." (John 10:10)

Arrived at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, AL for a mini-get-together with some friends from the women’s rv forum. The park sits on a mountain top, so first in order after a howdy to Jean was a hike to the overlooks.

Left to right: Joselyn, me, Beth. Also Roe and Peaches

When I told Joselyn to stand out there, she thought I meant down on the overhanging rock. I had to stop her from climbing over the wall to do it.

One of the rentable cabins.

In the evening Sarah (bluepinecones) took us on an informative driving tour of Huntsville. Here we are in the center of town at the springs that used to provide water to all of Huntsville.

Sunset over the water at the park

Baptist church with huge depiction of Jesus.

We drove by the impressive Space and Rocket center, but saved the tour for another visit. More impressive was having a native of Hunstville as a tour guide....Sarah has a wealth of knowledge and experience.

In the morning it was time for a long hike with Beth and Peaches. We saw a preserved section of the Monte Sano Railway,

Visited the Japanese garden...Joselyn and Beth, framed in the circle

Roe and Peaches enjoy some off-leash time on the trail

What happens when you let dogs off-leash

Wildflowers...black eyed susans, I think

Roe and Joselyn

Beth and me, in one of the rest shelters...note Peaches’ muddy underside.

Beth and Joselyn at an overlook, but the view is washed out

This little chipmunk was lucky both dogs were too pooped to notice it

In the afternoon we visited with Jean and posed for an official gtg photo. Back row: Joselyn & Beth. Front row: Sarah (bluepinecones) , Liz, Sparkle (Jean). Jean is sporting her new purple hat.

Thursday evening we moved campsites to Blue Pinecones Park, where Sarah was the hostess with the mostest, preparing us a delicious abundance of food served buffet-style. (In other words....serve yourself, she said) The card-playing table...

Sarah’s friend Donna brought her dog “Lizzie” for Sarah to doggy-sit. Joselyn tried to get all three dogs together for a group photo: L to R, Lizzie, Roe, Nicky

Sarah offering Roe one of Nicky’s squeak toys. Later Nicky took it back.

Good times, great friends. We had a short, but fun visit, and I’ll be back in August for another.
